Willy is that rare breed of architect; firmly committed to creative problem solving through planning, expert Building Code interpretation and Zoning Analysis.  In bridging planning and design disciplines, he explores enhancing and maximizing project opportunities, while respecting and protecting the environment of the new and existing building fabric.

He is highly experienced in navigating through the NYC Department of Buildings, and the diversity of City, State and Federal agencies with building construction jurisdiction.   Specialties include assisting in securing DOB approval and permit process, in addition to pursuing BSA cases and CPC Special Permits process.

Willy has long and valuable experience in designing facilities for a variety of sectors:  New construction and adaptive reuse; multi family residential; health related facilities; architecture and interior design. He applies design strategies with targeted attention to economic issues with project stewardship and design integrity.

He lends to each project enthusiasm, unbreakable optimism and a commitment to design with excellence, on budget and in a timely manner.

Daniel has over 18 years of experience designing a broad diversity of high profile architecture and interior design projects: from institutional, hospitality, civic, the performance and the visual arts to commercial and residential.  He leads a multi-disciplinary approach to design that brings together craftsmanship, technology and design specialties, as well as innovative use of finishes, materials and fixtures.

A native of Peru, Daniel’s design experience ranges from the international, with Mirai Kenchiku in Osaka, Japan and Amano Design, a design studio collaborative in Lima, Peru.  He has honed his design skills as senior designer with prestigious design studios: Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates, Rockwellgroup and Holzman Moss Bottino Architects.

As Design Principal for ZAD,  he is the creative force behind the design direction for all architecture and interior design projects for the firm. He brings a fresh and inquisitive approach that allows for bespoke solutions and unique creations.

Award winning projects include restaurants 8 1/2 Brasserie and The New Victory Theater in NYC, Samba Grill in Las Vegas, Equinox in Singapore and Cafe Milan in London. In addition, NYC hotels such as the W New York and W Union Square, the Chambers Hotel, and the Epic Hotel Resort in Deep Ellum, Texas, in collaboration with Todd Oldham Studio.
